District Historian

Brothers of the Queens District,

With the recent passing of the Queens District Historian, VW Mark Adler, RW Joseph J. Saglimbene DDGM had an obligation to the Queens District to select a Brother from one of the Lodges within this district to fill the vacancy. Well my Brothers I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you as the Queens District Historian. Some of you know me, but for those who do not I will give you a very quick rundown of my affiliations, I am a neoteric Past Master of Francis Lewis Lodge #273, a member and Trustee of Cornucopia Lodge # 563, a board member of the Queens Masonic Association, a member of the esteemed Quest thirty-something team, as well as Food Pantry coordinator for Francis Lewis Lodge and soon Cornucopia Lodge.

So, that introduced what I am in the district, this new job as Queens Historian is a hard one, why, because I need many helpers to do this. There are many, many stories within the Queens District about our Craft and Masons here in our home borough. I would like to have all the members of my team, which is EACH and EVERY Queens Mason, know that the only way we can respect and honor the History of our District is to have it written down so that it can be kept alive for posterity. Brothers lets elevate and regale our history and show that we are not only Masons but PROUD Queens District Masons. Let’s praise those who have gone before us and give incentive to those who are coming up in Masonry now and in the future to strive for the betterment of our Fraternity.

I know that there are Brothers in our District who hold wonderful accounts of our bygone days and I look forward to hearing from you in the future. I can be reached by phone at (917)623-4572, or email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , we can go out for coffee and talk. I thank all of you for your sagas and look forward to writing history with all of you right now. Let’s make the Queens District shine like one of the gems in the Jeweled Collar of the Grand Master. Looking forward to meeting with all of you.

i.e…. For those of you without a dictionary at your disposal, neoteric, as an adjective, means recent or new or, as a noun a person who advocates new ideas. I want to incorporate the old with the new!!!!!!
